ESTABLISHMENT AND HISTORY OF EGC

Eastern Divers Company ltd, was founded by Mr. Lewis Phriday, an expert commercial diver, in 1975, offering a wide range of marine services to the energy sector. The company commenced operations out of 1098 Newlands Village Guayaguayare, with diving inspection for AMOCO Trinidad Oil Company (now BP Trinidad and Tobago). Operating capacity increased with the acquisition of the contract with AMOCO in 1978 to supply crews for the berthing and unberthing of the oil tankers, maintenance of the single buoy mooring and marine yard operations.

This growth escalated in 1991, being given the opportunity to provide marine oil spill response and contingency services. Thereafter, in 1995 we were contracted to provide pilot services to oil tankers and commercial vessels. By 2005, we had acquired a contract to provide maintenance and tanker loading services to BHP Biliton Calm Buoy, thus further contributing to the growth and development of the organization. Some of our clients are BPTT, Gulf Marine Services, Tide Water Marine, General Earth Movers etc. To date, we continue to provide superior marine services to the energy sector satisfying customers for over Forty (40) Years.
